Mother, daughter to make emotional journey
Ten years ago, Carla Wingfield traveled to China and returned with the most precious cargo of her life. Now, Wingfield is returning to China once again to give something back to the country that gave her a daughter.
Wingfield and her 10-year-old daughter, Emily, who was adopted from the city of Ma-an-shan in the southeastern province of Anhwei, depart for China on Wednesday from Chicago O'Hare International Airport in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Emily's adoption.
